Floor tiles

The tiles are painted and glued on to the floor. Between the
tiles I've put some sealant-looking paint with sand, that
I've mixed myself. Then the edges of the tiles were painted
again and a thin layer of antiquing was added.

Here I'm making the tiles for the floor in the livingroom of
self-hardening clay.

Shutters for the windows

The shutters for the windows weren't very easy to make.
I had to cut quite a lot of the small pieces to insert in
the frames. It took many hours to finish these.

Entrance for the small scullery

Painted, crackled and sanded doors with
brackets with small "fleur-de-lis" on.

Front door of the house

The hole is cut, the door is painted and crackled.  A circle is
cut from a plastic sheet, "engraved" with a French Lily and
inserted in the door.

Wood works

Painting the wooden planks for the ceiling.
Cutting a hole in the front door.

First few steps

Dry build of the Village Hall kit.

The raw mdf - out of it's box.

Competition ends today, Aug. 31st 2010

Finally it ended - I bought the kit in March and began working on this project of turning the Village Hall kit into something completely different :-)  I just finished a week ago, posted some pictures via email for DHE and now I just have to wait and see what will happen.

Here's the completed kit, with a photo background, to set
the mood of a Louisiana swamp.
